This is my resume highlighting both my business, professional and English teaching background.

A teaching position in an professional environment where I can use my business and teaching experience to make a difference in the level of comfort and confidence that my students have with the English language.

Conducting private English conversation, grammar, and listening lessons via SKYPE.  Creating customized lesson plans for each student depending on individual needs.  Lessons may include topic specific conversation and vocabulary building, pronunciation drills, listening for comprehension, and grammar explanations and review.  Specialized conversation topics include business, marketing, finance, accounting, customer service, and networking. Student ages range from 12 to 75 years old.

 

English Teacher, Tepeyac Center New York

Volunteer teach intermediate level English class with 6 – 15 Latino, adult learners.

Prepare and present lesson plans for a 4-hour class.  Lessons include fluency practice, pronunciation drills, vocabulary building, and review and application of level appropriate grammar.

 

 English Teacher, Chinese Normal School, Taibei, Taiwan

Teaching 3-4 classes of 20 – 28 students of English as a Second Language, English writing and Business English to high school and adult learners.  Created and executed lesson plans, exams and materials. Provided private lessons as needed.

 

Controller and Vice President Operations, Hudson Yards Development Corporation, NY  2006 – 2012

Evaluate and govern all internal operations and business practices and policies, ensuring smooth management of state and local reporting, agency and project specific budgeting, accounting, payroll, human resource benefits, contracting, purchasing, information technology systems, and state and local compliance for $3 billion project and administrative budget.

Generate and collaborate on HR policies and procedures, including guidelines for hiring, reviews, and disciplinary actions, confidentiality, and harassment. Designed policy and communicated with vendors and staff regarding pensions, insurance, and time and leave benefits.

Conduct and project-manage agency’s annual budget reports, and audits including financial statements, workers compensation, and pension. Manage annual federal tax and pension filings.  Coordinate communication with city and state agencies, board and audit committees, ensuring compliance.

Achieved 5 consecutive years of zero audit findings and adjustments.

Supervised federal, state and local grants management and reporting for $11 million human services organization, A/R, A/P, payroll, budgeting, grant and financial audits, procurement, and human resources. Supervised staff of 6.

Designed and streamlined office procedures and internal controls, collaborated with programs, organizing data management, accounting and procurement systems; trained grants management staff improving reporting procedures, and accounting staff in environment with historic lack of internal controls.

Coordinated federal, state and local contract and grants management and compliance, including contract billing, A/R, and purchasing. Managed A-133 and grant audits
